Introduction: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is considered a hepatic manifestation of metabolic syndrome and is closely associated with abdominal obesity, atherogenic dyslipidaemia, and diabetes exposing subjects with NAFLD to an increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
